2018 Skoda Octavia 1.4
did nearly 300km (180-ish miles)
pros: quick (very quick to go beyond speed limits) , quiet, comfy seats, keyless start
cons: stop-start, acc-cruise was annoying (so much so i stopped using it), infotainment screen too complicated, ind stalk on wrong side (needs to be on the right hand side of column), wind whistle at 115km/h
meh: DSG (IF i bought one i’d go for a manual)

The manual is a lot easier to live with though many say the DSG is pretty great and much improved on the last.
The stop/start has to be disabled each time the car is started. Though the stop/start does work really well on the manual and the engine kicks back in on depression of the clutch pedal.
The stop/start can be disabled permanently by going into the VCDS .
Also the throttle response can be improved, by again going into the VCDS, and changing the relevant value from the Skoda value to the Audi value. Skoda forum users have said it makes a small change but not massively.

The accent is above the S, not the a. (not that I ever use it).

Meh. Just messing . lol.
It’s not something I’m really anal about. Take the name, Skoda Octavia, I’m supposed to say ‘Sch-koda Oct-ar-via’, but in British we call them Sk-oda Oct-A-via.

That is not a pretty car.

Now I want a Skoda in that exact same color.
Damn you, Europe, for having neat normal cars!
